Incense Match Sticks

The westerly winds blowing through Japan's Awaji island create the ideal temperature to dry incense and for 150 years, the Harima region there has been producing nearly 70% of the country's matches and incense. It only makes sense that eventually someone would produce the Hibi Incense Match Stick: a strike-on-box incense match with fragrances derived from local herbs and made from a secret blend of paper fibres, incense and charcoal. Each stick will burn for about 10 minutes, but the aroma will linger, making it the perfect sensual companion for a bath, a bit of yoga or some peaceful meditation.

One box in your set contains eight incense matches; the other holds a non-flammable pad to rest your incense on while it burns. The pad fits rather nicely in this ceramic Tamba Tray

Strike the head of the stick on the side of the box like a typical match, let it burn for about 5 seconds, then blow it out and rest it on the included mat while it releases its fragrance.
