Made in collaboration with cookbook author, lifestyle expert and fashion designer Peter Som, this blend pays homage to Peter's culinary upbringing in a Chinese-American home. Peter says this "...blend is all about the balance of sweet and savory and the hits of flavor that ping pong around your mouth. The warming notes of Chinese five spice was the starting point, but from there I took things in a few different—and very delicious—directions. I gave Mom’s five spice a spirited pinch of black lime for a zesty kick that’s truly the spice of life. Take a shortcut to big flavor by using Bird's the Word like Mom does as a poultry rub for amazing roast chicken, or sprinkle generously on roasted veggies, seared steaks and bloody Marys to make them sing with umami. ”
